GIL (International Gemological Laboratory) settled in Hong Kong, China in early 2018, and brought the latest technology Dlasercode (Aurora Code) to users in the Asia Pacific region. In June of the same year, GIL Hong Kong Lab officially opened its business. In addition to providing a full version of the certificate, GIL also provides customers with a bare stone certificate to do only Dlasercode services. This is the background.
However, in the samples received recently, the laboratory frequently found that the bare stone sent by the customer did not match the GIA certificate attached to it, in view of the adverse effects that such a situation may have on the market and the damage to consumer rights. The author feels that it is necessary to write this article, in the hope that the market can have a clearer understanding of this "camp" phenomenon, beware of being deceived.
In view of the phenomenon of different certificates, in many detection methods, the measurement of cutting is the simplest and most direct, and the following is the effective means of sample cutting data for two suspected sets:
1. GIA number - D-VVS2.
Organized comparison table:
Screenshot of raw data:
By comparison, it is not difficult to find that the actual weight of the sample diamond, the external size (average diameter, full depth) and the certificate basically match, these two are also relatively easy to do. However, under the premise that the external dimensions are basically the same, we pay attention to the detailed data. All the projects have more or less deviations, and these details can't be faked to be exactly the same. As shown in the figure, the most exaggerated is the crown angle. When the minimum graduation value is 0.5°, the difference is 3.5°, which is equivalent to 7 units. Based on these cut data, we are sufficient to determine that the sample diamond is not corresponding to the GIA certificate it is attached to. Let's look at another set of data:
2. GIA number - G-VVS2.
Organized comparison table:
Screenshot of raw data:
This set of data is relatively inconsistent, but we can see that the measured diamond width ratio of the sample diamond, crown angle, pavilion angle, lower waist length ratio, crown height ratio, pavilion depth ratio, full depth There is still a certain deviation in the ratio, so the sample can also be reasonably judged to be inconsistent with the original certificate.
At the same time, we observe the above two examples, we can find that the color and clarity of the two diamonds belong to a higher level. The samples of multiple suspected warrants detected by the author in the laboratory meet this condition, that is, the clarity level is higher than or equal to VS1, and the color level is higher than or equal to G. This is not difficult to understand, because when the clarity level is higher than or equal to VS1 The internal inclusions of diamonds are basically in the form of point-like inclusions or tiny crystal inclusions. The internal features are not obvious, and the fraud is relatively easy (this conclusion is only true if there is a clarity sketch). For diamonds with a clarity of less than 1.00ct, it is easier to make a cleansing of the clarity, and should be more vigilant for such small fractions of diamonds; the color grade is the same, the grade is higher than or equal to the color The diamonds are theoretically invisible, and the difference between the DG colors is very small compared to the level below the color. Generally, most people do not have the GIA certificate. There is too much entanglement in this, and it is this mentality of most people that gives the counterfeiters a chance to do so.

It can be seen that the instrument is not deceiving, and the actual measured data of the diamond corresponding to the certificate must be highly consistent with the parameters of the certificate. Therefore, readers must keep their eyes on the purchase of the certificate. In addition to checking the weight, color, various clarity characteristics and fluorescence, the check of the cut is also a very important part. Seeing that there may be readers here, the instruments of the cutting machine are only available in the laboratory. How do we check the cuts when we usually go out to buy goods? In fact, the measurement of cutting is also a simple method of estimation. of? “Set of goods†is very suitable, as shown below:
1. The method of estimating the aspect ratio:
(Proportional method estimation, source of map: system gemology)
(Arc degree method, map source: system gemology)
2. The estimation method of the pavilion depth ratio:
(Ting depth comparison method, with map source: system gemology)
The above method is simple and practical, and it is very helpful for daily diamond trade. However, the above methods are also limited to when the difference between the goods is large, then is there a thing that can perfectly avoid the trap of “proofing GIL can give you a positive answer: This is Dlasercode, the Chinese name "Aurora Password", which was first developed by GIL in New York's lab, and now GIL Hong Kong Lab brings this technology to the Asia Pacific region.
What is Dlasercode? We all know that a natural natural diamond produced by nature is unique. According to the diamond's growth direction, the type of blank, the environment and other factors, as well as the various external and internal features of the diamond, each diamond is under the optical effect. The reaction at each point on each face is different. GIL has been working hard for more than a decade by a number of gemologists. Finally, Dlasercode (Aurora Code), an optical instrument that can study diamonds in 360°, has been developed. The diamonds are placed inside the machine through precise optical effects and calculations. Diamonds can get a corresponding Aurora password. The number, size, position, shape, and shade of each Aurora password point are different. These different combinations make the diamond different from other diamonds. For consumers, this Aurora password will not be lost, and the data will be automatically uploaded to the GIL Global Server after being tested by GIL Labs. Even if the diamond is re-cut to 80% of the original quality, GIL's technology guarantees that the diamond can still be identified, and the laboratory can contact the owner through the official website registration information. GIL's unique anti-theft system is also a weapon in the current market.

GIL Labs has long been committed to understanding consumer concerns and developing more comprehensive analysis reports for consumers:
The unique optical evaluation 6EX system fills the gap in the evaluation of diamond optical effects in the Chinese market. Dlsercode and the diamond crown, the lumbar code real shot chart is GIL's efforts to verify the current market and to prove the ravages. On a GIL certificate, community center jewelers are often able to read the information they need, because GIL is concerned with the concerns of consumers.
Sports medals produced by us are made out of a metal alloy combining zinc and aluminium. As a standard we produce 3 mm thick medals, however we can produce thicker, 6 mm ones, on client`s demand.
Any shape and any graphic design are available for both one sided and double sided medals what makes each medal unique. We produce 2D and 3D sports medals. We also undertake Medals Custom Medal, Sports Medal for sports event, schools, colleges and for any award functions.
